High-quality practice resources were surprisingly scarce, and trying to coordinate weekly sessions with a human tutor around family schedules and extracurriculars felt unnecessarily difficult.
Emma's Vision
After a career scaling products and leading data teams at companies like Amazon, Expedia, and Stripe, I wanted to see if we could build a smarter system. But Lumio isn’t just an engineering project—it is entirely Emma's vision.
She became the architect of her own learning platform. Through countless hours of testing and iteration, Emma helped write and refine the system instructions that power the platform today. She taught the AI how to be the perfect tutor: one with infinite patience, available 24/7, that explains the "why" behind a concept rather than just handing over the answer.
